Welcome back to 2017! What a busy first few weeks we've had!
We are in Harold today learning about Empathy and how to be a good friend!
WE ARE AWESOME!
As a group, we have had the most fantastic responses and we have some great role models showing themselves.
Callum - you made a 'monkey' of yourself showing people how to be assertive and answer questions. You were also a fantastic role model.
Billie Jean - what fantastic ideas you had to share. You are very empathetic!
Hannah - another great role model and someone who shows empathy all the time.
Jasmine - for being brave and sharing your ideas even when you were a bit nervous!
I especially loved the way you all listened, showed respect and included each other in your discussions.
We learnt what empathy meant.
We learnt that being aggressive and passive would make the problem bigger.
BUT what is the third word we learnt about that means the opposite of passive and aggressive? Leave me a comment with your answer and what it means.
Wow! Harold is a cool giraffe for coming to schools ay! You guys had some good compliments on how to be role models. I probably wouldn't be able to think of half of these on the dot!
ReplyDeleteKia ora Mamuka learners,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Tania and I am one of the Manaiakalani Outreach Facilitators. I live in Whangarei, a long way from where you live in Christchurch. Have any of you ever been to Whangarei or the top of the North Island? I am lucky enough to be organising Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu so will be able to check out your blog regularly and leave you comments. When I am at Schools in Northland I sometimes get to see Harold and the Life Education Caravan. Empathy is such as important thing to learn about. The world would be a better place if we could all show empathy. I am wondering what the third word you learnt about is??? I look forward to seeing your comments soon.

Hello! I am Elias and I am from Rimu class in Yaldhurst Model school. LifeEd is quite fun, and Harold is funny. I hope that LifeEd will come to my school again. It seemed like you all learned lots at LifeEd.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what that third word is?
Hello Everyone,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are having fun for you first couple of school weeks. My class had Harold Last year and we talked about how our brains are still developing and how taking drugs are bad. I agree with Tania that empathy is an important thing to learn about.
