Mystery Buddies

Our Mystery Buddies are feeling neglected....

Now that you know how to make a Table of Contents (don't try to do this until I have taught you...)please go and create headings and update the Table of Contents. I fixed up this one to show you what it should look like!

Then, you must create a new post in your doc. Maybe call it holidays? Or Main Stars? Or anything you like.

Also ask another question to see if you can find out where they live!

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

This week we will be reading Chapters 5-9 of
'The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane'.

Some of you still have to do your predictions for your buddies. Click here to find your doc and write your prediction.

If your doc doesn't work or if your buddy hasn't left a prediction
please email me and let me know ASAP!

On Monday I will teach you how to create a Contents Page in your doc to make it easier to find what we are writing about. Like this:

Week 1's activity is this:
Questioning - Choose an event from chapters 5-9 to create questions for your partner to respond to.You will use your Google Doc to share your questions and then respond to your partners questions.

Huritau O Te Tai Poutini - 150 Years of Māwhera

Greymouth is 150 years old! It has been 150 years since our town was officially settled. Of course there were people here before that but that was when it was officially a 'town'!

Your first challenge: Think of your favourite place in Greymouth. It must be a place that was here go so you CANNOT choose 'The Warehouse' or the 'Skate park'.

Find a picture of what your favourite place may have looked like 150 years ago and paste it into this presentation.

Here's my favourite place - can you guess where it is?

Sophie's Commonwealth Games Poem

Fencing
As I grip my Sword and Start to sweat
The referee shouts out fence,
I thrust My blade at my opponent's Chest
He obviously think that hes the best,
I feel my pulse Beating Hard
I can’t believe I've Come this Far,
I'm At the Commonwealth Games
My Family are all so amazed,
My opponent thrusts at me
I block his hits all with ease,
With one last hit I knock him down
The Celebration echoes all around,
I've Won it I've done it
I hear the Cheers,
After all that training
After all those years,
Its finished its done
I've been crowned number one
And I shall cherish this memory for years to come
For the Art of fencing is my number one.

WALT: Show not Tell
WALT:  Use Adjectives

Swimming
I feel the freezing coldness touch the tips of my fingers
I kick as I am under water
I come up out of the water
I hear the crowd screaming at me
As I start my stroke
I feel a rush of excitement rushing through my body
I touch the wall I look around.
I had a feeling that I won the race.
They call out the winners
I hear my name called I listen
I won I actually won the race.
I walk up to the podem I stand at the top
I feel the heaviness  on my neck
It feels great I won
Whoooooooo.
